Golden Gate Collectors, an 501(c) 3 organization
Golden Gate Collectors is an 501c(3) non-profit organization and social club which contributes to the collections of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and has monthly luncheons and talks on antiques and collectibles.
The Golden Gate Collectors was founded in 1940 and since 1955 has given 25 items requested by the curators to the collections of the Fine Arts Museums in San Francisco. Members typically support the Fine Arts Museums with contributions to the museums' general fund but also enjoy being able to contribute individual items to the collections. By pooling our resources we have been able to contribute items to the museums which we might not be able to provide as individuals. Members currently meet at a downtown restaurant - John's Grill, famous for its connection with the Maltese Falcon, for a served luncheon followed by a speaker on first Mondays. Special meetings and fundraising events are also held.
